WHAT IS HOSPICE

What is hospice care

Hospice care is for patients and families who have chosen to forgo aggressive treatment — care focused on the quality of the time that remains. Instead of fighting the illness, we ease pain, manage difficult symptoms, and help your loved one live each day comfortably and with dignity.

Clinicians and trained care staff work as one team, tending not only to physical pain but also to peace of mind. Before it is a time of preparing for the end, this is also a precious time for families to face one another more deeply and leave behind warm memories.

FOR FAMILIES

We care for the family's heart, too

  • Hospice is not care for the patient alone. We also tend to the anxiety and exhaustion of the family keeping watch.
  • Even after your loved one has passed, we offer bereavement counseling to help the family move through grief in a healthy way.
  • Our 24-hour on-call nursing means someone is always within reach, whenever questions arise.
  • In the difficult moments of deciding the direction of care, our clinicians sit calmly with your family to talk it through together.

Note: Hospice eligibility is determined by the attending physician's assessment and the patient's condition, and may be covered by the Medicare hospice benefit and other programs. We will gladly walk you through eligibility and costs in a consultation, with no obligation.
